Old Belvedere Women & Girl's Rugby Teams

Old Belvedere RFC boasts two women’s rugby teams, one in the All Ireland League (AIL) and another in Leinster Division 2. Players are of all abilities from beginner to international level. Our ethos is to develop every player to the level that they aspire to play at, whether that’s for fun, to make friends or to play on the international stage.

Old Belvedere RFC celebrated its 100th year in 2019, while the women’s section celebrates it 25th year this season. The women’s section was founded by former UCD women’s rugby players who wanted to continue their rugby career past college. The club continues to have a strong connection with UCD and many players line out for Belvo and Collidge each season. This season is our 11th consecutive year in the All-Ireland League and 7th year in Leinster.

In the past the women’s senior XV have won the AIL three times and the seconds team have won the Leinster League. Prior to attaining Division 1 status, the club won the Division 2 League title and Paul Flood Cup.

Traditionally a 15s club, in the past few years Old Belvedere have concentrated on developing our 7s programme and we now play rugby 12 months of the year. The club offers players free gym membership, position specific S&C and free physio clinics.
