Following weeks of expectation for a plan to return to rugby, the IRFU 'Updated Return to Rugby Roadmap' was published last night and link is at the end of this email. We wanted to mail the members as a follow up to the IRFU announcement, regarding the club's plans. Below are outlined proposed plans re the reopening of the club. As we work through the plans, there may be some changes, which will be communicated to you. However we don't expect any major changes from these proposals. A Covid Safety sub committee of Dorothy Collins, Ian Donnelly and myself have been working on the issues and proposed solutions. We are working to develop our Safety Plan, ensuring that it is comprehensive, practical and easily implemented. Proposed Reopening Plans - We expect the gym to be open from July 6th. Pre booking will be essential. Further information will be sent out shortly re the system to be used and operating procedure.
- The pitches are not available for training yet. Further updates will be sent out re pitches next week. We are completing a full risk assessment and safety plan. This needs to be completed before pitches can reopen.
- The dressings rooms are closed.
- The clubhouse is closed until Saturday July 25th, when the bar will be open from 4pm to 8pm. It will also be open on Sunday 26th from 4 - 8pm and every Saturday & Sunday through August and September into the new season.
We will also have to appoint Safety Officers for each team before training resumes. Full training will be given to all officers. It is very important that we put in place a robust system for the safe restarting of rugby in the club before we can all enjoy each other's company again. With all the changes required it is prudent that 'We walk before we Run' so please bear with us, as we put operational plans in place. Specifically we must ensure that, - Distancing
- Hygiene
- Track and Trace
are implemented comprehensively and that everyone plays their part in their implementation. Please await further updates over the next couple of weeks. Regards, Paul Nugent Club Covid Safety Officer Click below for Link for the roadmap on the IRFU website.
