Old Belvedere Rugby Football Club

Dear Members,

I would like to wish everyone involved in Old Belvedere and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year.  

I wish to extend my sincere thanks to all those working within the club, many behind the scenes, for all their ongoing hard work and enthusiasm which is greatly appreciated by everyone. Thank you to our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters for all the support and encouragement I have received during the year and for helping to make Old Belvedere such an enjoyable club of which to be a part. 

In November, Dave Walsh had occasion to show a French rugby colleague around the club and he posted a message into the Vets WhatsApp group afterwards which I’m sure he wouldn’t mind me sharing with you: 

“I felt so much pride showing him around the club: pitches, bar, terrace, gym, clubhouse, function room, sauna, flower beds - all of it. Then answering how many teams we have - women, men, u20, Juvenile, mini rugby. I have never seen the club thriving on every front like this. Big thank you to all those doing the work behind the scenes.” 

I am looking forward to an enjoyable (and hopefully successful) 2025 and I hope to seeing many of you down in Ollie Campbell Park in the New Year. Keep your diaries open for the Annual Club Dinner which is on Saturday 25th January!
