Tommy Jordan RIP

Dear members.

The club received the sad news that long standing member, Tommy Jordan has passed away.

Tommy was a great clubman and a dedicated President in 1986/87. He joined the club when he left Belvedere College and was a unique player and coach in the club over many years.

Tommy, an amazingly strong scrummager who, in the guise of David, slew countless Goliaths to the amazement of others, but not his teammates.

He was responsible for setting up the Old Belvedere Floodlit Cup which ran for many years in the 80’s and 90’s. This was a hugely popular tournament with all the Leinster clubs and brought great prestige to the club.

One quote from a member – ‘Tommy was a true Belvo man. I remember him giving our U19’s very effective scrum sessions back in the day. All he ever wanted was to see Belvo thrive’

The club received the sad news late. Tommy’s funeral was today, Monday.

May he rest in peace.

Ar dheis de go raibh a ainm.
