Linda Djougang’s 50th Cap & Belvo Players Named for New Zealand Clash
Dear Members,
Last weekend was a special one for Old Belvedere’s Linda Djougang, as she earned her 50th international cap in Ireland’s Rugby World Cup victory over Spain. Linda became only the 15th Ireland Women’s player to reach the milestone, proudly leading the team out in Northampton and delivering another trademark performance in the front row. It was a memorable achievement for Linda, her teammates, and everyone at the club.
This Sunday, Ireland conclude their Pool C campaign against defending champions New Zealand in Brighton, with six Belvo players named in the matchday 23.
Linda Djougang once again starts at tighthead prop, joined up front by Ruth Campbell in the second row, and Brittany Hogan at number eight.
In the backline, Aoife Dalton continues at outside centre with Dannah O’Brien directing play from out-half. Niamh O’Dowd provides front row cover from the bench.
