Dear Members,
Old Belvedere RFC is incredibly proud to have seven players named in Ireland’s matchday squad for their Rugby World Cup 2025 opener against Japan this Sunday, August 24th, kick-off 12pm at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton.
We are immensely proud of our players and wish Aoife, Dannah, Niamh, Linda, Ruth, Fiona, and Brittany every success as they represent both club and country in one of the biggest and historic competitions of their careers.
Belvo’s influence is felt right across the pitch as Ireland begin their Pool C campaign. In the backline, Aoife Dalton starts at outside centre while Dannah O’Brien directs play at out-half.
Up front, Niamh O’Dowd and Linda Djougang pack down in the front row, Ruth Campbell joins in the second row, and Fiona Tuite starts at blindside flanker. Completing the Belvo contingent, Brittany Hogan lines up at number eight, bringing her trademark leadership and dynamism to the back row.
How to Watch
Ireland v Japan will be shown live on RTÉ2 and BBC Two, with radio commentary on RTÉ 2FM. Kick-off is 12pm (Irish time) on Sunday, August 24th.
