Padel Courts: Completion
Dear Members
Members may be aware that Old Belvedere was granted planning permission in June to construct the Padel courts that were overwhelmingly approved at our EGM in February. This decision was initially appealed but the appeals have now been withdrawn and so we are now in a position to commence this very exciting project.
To remind members the development will involve the demolition of the existing squash courts and the construction of 3 indoor padel courts and ancillary facilities. It will also involve a substantial facelift for the club premises. This is a very exciting and substantial development which will change the face of Ollie Campbell Park as can be seen from the architect’s drawing above:
The demolition phase will begin around the 15th September and continue until mid-October. The site and ground works will commence mid-October with a view to the main construction commencing in early December. Completion date is currently targeted for end May 2026.
Obviously, a development of this nature will result in significant disruption for members during the construction period. We will do our best to minimise disruption but an undertaking of this scale cannot be completed without inconvenience.
We would ask our members to bear with us during the construction period and look forward to an exciting and vibrant future for our club.
